Enlightened Wisdom |

What is the secret of happiness? This question took a grip of me several years ago. In my search for the answer I discovered that thousands of man-years had been devoted to this quest in ancient India. This was considered the highest pursuit for the wise and the inquisitive, and their findings were documented for everyone's benefit. Unfortunately, organized religion came along and muddied the waters; the wisdom that could have set people free got buried in ritual and dogma. I have revisited the original wisdom with a practical pursuit of happiness in mind, rather than a philosophical or meta-physical explanation of concepts.I have cherry-picked ideas rich in scope for practical use. Wherever possible, I have tried them out in my own life. I retained ideas that passed the test of personal experience or were plausible beyond reasonable doubt. Anything that required blind faith was discarded. The result is a 4x4 Philosophy - four priorities to focus on in life, four attitudes to develop, four errors to avoid and four stages of life - all based on an underlying understanding of the highest potential of the mind. Everyone can apply the ideas to improve personal effectiveness in whatever direction they choose - success, wellbeing, peace of mind or sustained happiness. The philosophy impacts every aspect of life because it is based on developing and strengthening the mind.
